The aims of the Web Group are to:

  • foster and create a trusted centre of excellence within those regions for the delivery of Internet based services
  • raise SME awareness of the Web Group and market the services of the members
increase the trust in the members
  • give independent advice to SME clients
  • explain the return on investment potential of adopting an Internet strategy
  • provide an effective membership scheme for local web designers
  • ensure the highest quality standards are maintained by members
  • stimulate collaboration between members
  • promote adoption of best practise in terms of web design and adherence, as far as practical and possible, to the requirements of the DDA
  • provide qualified leads to members
  • seek government funding for eligible customers to promote the use of Internet technology and/or develop their business through the use of Internet technology
  • reduce the financial risk a website represents to small companies by ensuring that members are capable of delivering a quality product on time and to budget
There are web design organisations who proclaim that they have strict membership qualification rules. But quite often they do not. Member companies of these sometimes fail to deliver to a client's expectations.

The Web Group will only allow a web design company to display our membership logo after that company has passed some very stringent tests - monitored and adjudicated by a committee. Once awarded the member has to continue to adhere to the rules, code of conduct and quality expected. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the priveleges that membership brings.
